pare away the unnecessary
the self-serving elements
pull off all want and need
neither requirements
nor conditions
may remain
love unencumbered
will meet no
boundary
on its way
and this
must
find
its mark
the self-serving elements
pull off all want and need
neither requirements
nor conditions
may remain
love unencumbered
will meet no
boundary
on its way
and this
must
find
its mark

A good meditation, and going deeper, the truth. Those preconditions do hinder us, keeping us self absorbed. Only as we cut away those unnecessary layers of fat (selfishness) do we get to the heart of the matter. But perhaps it is better left uncut? It seems only God knows how to truly circumcise our hearts.
When we try doing it, we end up doing permanent damage.
